Les océans sont les sources de la vie, ils doivent être protégés. Malheureusement, la situation actuelle des océans est critique, les océans subissent un véritable traumatisme environnemental causé principalement par le mode de vie et les activités des êtres humains.

La protection des océans est essentielle pour lutter contre le changement climatique. De nombreuses institutions et organisations luttent pour protéger l’océan et la faune marine.

ProTec soutient, partage et co-promeut les ambitions et initiatives d’organisations de protection des océans telles que Mission Blue. Nous travaillons constamment à l’augmentation des zones marines protégées et à la restauration du cœur bleu de la planète.

Green Fins

ProTec also supports the Green Fins initiative coordinated internationally by The Reef-World Foundation.

Green Fins is a unique conservation initiative driving sustainability in the marine tourism sector, specifically for diving and snorkeling since 2004. Established through a partnership between the UN Environment and The Reef-World Foundation, Green Fins uses a proven three-pronged approach: green certifications of dive centres, strengthening regulations and environmental education for dive staff, divers and government. Green Fins fosters environmental stewardship in the coastal tourism industry and local communities leading to measurable reduction in negative environmental impacts associated with diving and snorkeling, helping coral reefs to be more resilient to global threats such as those associated with climate change. The approach is proven and replicable, has been adopted by nine countries and over 550 marine tourism operators.

The Reef-World Foundation is a UK registered charity, operating internationally to support governments and communities in sustainable consumption and production of coastal resources and marine life. Reef-World have been working in partnership with the UN Environment to establish the Green Fins approach for sustainable diving and snorkeling practices since 2004.

ProTec supports The Reef-World Foundation, with the aim to increase the conservation reach of the Green Fins initiative and to inspire other businesses by promoting the work ProTec is undertaking to conserve the natural resources and to support Reef-World towards achieving its charitable objectives.
